Engineering details

The hat is CNC machined from 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminium. The rings use Girodisc proprietary cast iron, poured in the USA and machined in-house for tight tolerances. A floating mount system with ten high-strength alloy steel drive pins, cadmium plated for corrosion resistance, controls axial and radial float between the hat and ring. Class 12.9 cap screws with hardened washers secure the assembly. Anti-noise spring washers permit thermal expansion while minimising cold rattle and helping the rotor self-centre between pads.
