High-Flow Charge Air Cooler for Audi TTRS 8J 2.5 TFSI
Serious power needs serious cooling. This large-format charge cooler replaces the restrictive factory unit on the Audi TTRS 8J to cut heat soak, drop IATs and keep the five-cylinder pulling hard on fast road, track days and drag runs. It installs in the stock location, sits neatly behind the OE bumper, and works with the original pipework for a clean, hassle-free upgrade.
Built to keep temps down and power up
- Massive 120 mm thick core for exceptional thermal capacity and airflow
- Smooth, pressure-cast tanks for reduced turbulence and even charge distribution
- Direct bolt-on kit that utilises factory mounting points and standard hoses
- Stealth black coating option for an OEM-plus look, with optional logo
- Designed and manufactured in the UK
- 3-year, unlimited mileage warranty
- Complete kit with brackets, fixings and step-by-step instructions
Real data. Repeatable gains.
Independent rolling road tests against the stock cooler show a major drop in outlet temperatures and far better consistency over repeated pulls.
Standard cooler:
Run 1 – In: 117°C | Out: 69°C
Run 2 – In: 117°C | Out: 68°C
Run 3 – In: 119°C | Out: 78°C
Upgraded cooler:
Run 1 – In: 116°C | Out: 36°C
Run 2 – In: 117°C | Out: 36°C
Run 3 – In: 118°C | Out: 37°C
Lower outlet temps mean stronger, more reliable performance on both mapped and standard 2.5 TFSI cars. Expect crisper throttle response, sustained power on back-to-back pulls and reduced heat soak in summer traffic.
Fitment and install notes
- Suitable for all Audi TTRS 8J models
- Direct replacement that retains the factory pipework
- Typical installation time: 3 to 4 hours
Important: the original crash bar requires trimming to clear the larger core. A pre-modified bar option is commonly used for this upgrade. Email info@mjmodifications.co.uk to discuss options.
