Why replace the standard centre support

The OE hanger bracket relies on a thin rubber cushion that softens and sags with age, heat and mileage. As it deteriorates, the shaft can dip off-centre, stressing the joints and allowing lash during launches and on-off throttle. Installation

The two-piece clamp bolts around the existing bearing. Remove the factory carrier, clean away the old rubber support material on top while keeping the molded base layer on the bearing intact, then fit and torque the new assembly. Basic steps:

• Remove any braces or splash shields obstructing access
• Lower or remove the exhaust section if required
• Peel back the heat shielding over the centre support area
• Cut off the OE carrier and tidy the area around the bearing
• Clamp the upgrade around the factory bearing and reassemble
