How Special Active works

KONI’s Special Active uses a frequency selective hydraulic valve inside the damper. During larger chassis movements such as braking, turn-in and weight transfer, the valve firms up to control roll and pitch. Over high-frequency imperfections like potholes, expansion joints and ripples, it opens to absorb the sharp edges, keeping the cabin composed and the tyres in contact with the tarmac. You get the best of both worlds in one passive adaptive unit.
